Similar to in-person events, when you sign up for a virtual event on the Mobilize platform, you are enrolled in a series of automated notifications. These notifications confirm your attendance and keep you updated on important details as the event gets closer. Depending on whether you opt in to our automated text messages, you will also receive occasional updates via text.

Between emails and texts, and depending on the notification settings of the organization you're volunteering for, there are quite a few ways to join a virtual event after you've signed up. This article will dig into how to locate the video call information!

Upon registering for an event, Mobilize will send you an email and SMS (if you opted in) confirmation of your registration with important details. While the SMS message won't contain any virtual call information, the email will! You'll be able to join the virtual call on the day of the event using the Join event @ button or by clicking on the link in the How to join this event section.

⚠️ Note: The registration email notification cannot be turned off by organizations so you should always receive one!

The day before the event, Mobilize sends you a confirmation reminder email and SMS — which serve two purposes: to remind you about the event and so you can confirm/cancel your attendance. Similar to the Registration Email & SMS, the SMS message won't contain any virtual call information, but the email will! You'll be able to join the virtual call on the day of the event using the link in the How to prepare section.

⚠️ Note: The confirmation email notification can be turned off by organizations, so you may not receive one, depending on the notification settings of the organization you're volunteering for.

On the morning of the event, Mobilize will send you an automated email reminding you about the event. If an event occurs before 8am, or is created after 8am for the same day, there will be no day-of reminder email. You'll be able to join the virtual call when it begins using the Join event @ button or by clicking on the link in the How to join this event section.

Depending on whether you opted into our SMS messages, Mobilize sends you an automated SMS message 30 minutes before the event starts with a link to join the virtual call.
