How do I add shifts?
Learn how to add one-time and recurring shifts to your events.
All Mobilize events require at least one shift in order to be created! Read this article to learn how to add timeslots for volunteers to sign up for events.
Mobilize is all about volunteers. Our platform aims to help you with both recruiting and retaining your supporters. One of the most important parts of creating an event is to adding shifts for which your volunteers can sign up.
On the Event Creation page, first fill out the fields for the event's name, its date and time, and its description. Then, scroll down to the heading called “Schedule.”
First, set the timezone to the local time of your campaign.
Next, click "Add Times" button. You will see a window that pops up, allowing you to select various dates and times for shifts. On the left side, the Frequency tab gives you the option of adding shifts once, daily, weekly, or monthly.
If your event is one-time only, set the frequency to "Once," then set the date, start time, and end time of your event.
If you are creating a recurring event, you can set a range for how long you want the event to recur. When you click "Add Time" it will automatically add shifts for each of the daily, weekly, or monthly recurrences that you have set.
Below you can see the result when the form is filled in with Weekly shifts:
Click the grey “X” next to the end time to delete individual time slots. Like with events, if a time slot is deleted there's the option to notify attendees automatically.
The blue icon next to the grey “X” will tell you how many attendees are currently signed up for each respective shift. To learn more about post-shift feedback and messaging, click here.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the green “Submit” button, and you’re all set!
