Mobilize’s event campaign feature gives volunteers ownership over their events, while still giving organizations control over what is being published to their feed.
Configure who can approve events
When creating an event campaign, the Admin will select whether approval is required and who can approve events. Moderators can be Admins only or include selected volunteers.
If approval is required for event submission, the event will need to be reviewed and approved by a moderator.
Once a volunteer host submits the 'Host an Event' form, they will be required to verify their email if they are a Host or it is their first time submitting an event to your organization.
When Hosts or Trusted Hosts make new events, or edit existing events, moderators will get a notification.
Approve events from the dashboard
Step 1: Find the event
'Awaiting Review' tab: View events submitted via an event campaign that need to be reviewed by a moderator.
From this tab, you can decline the event or continue the review process.
'Awaiting Verification' tab: View events submitted but the host has not yet verified their email address. The event will move to the 'Awaiting Review' tab once the host verifies their email.
From this tab, you can decline the event before host verification
Step 2: Edit the event
All events submitted by hosts can be edited prior to approval. Any changes to the default event description will be noted with a warning emoji next to the event title. Before approving, you can make edits such as:
set the event to Private Visibility
customize or enable any automated communications
add a virtual link
add co-hosts
Step 3: Approve + Add Trusted Host (optional)
Once the event is ready, you can approve the event. There are two options:
Approve: Approves public event to be displayed on your public events feed. Sign up will be open for public and private events.
Approve + trust host: Both approves the event to be displayed on your public events feed and allows the volunteer to create and edit events in the future without needing approval. If the volunteer is already a Trusted Host, the Approve + trust host button will be greyed out.
