Dashboard admins can designate their organization's legal status as independent expenditure (IE) , electoral coordinated, or nonelectoral based on the work they're doing on Mobilize. In compliance with FEC regulations, Mobilize enforces restrictions on what data can be shared between IE and coordinated-side entities when using the promotion and co-ownership features.
Here's how it works for promotions:
IEs can promote coordinated organizations but some data about signups they recruit to coordinated events will be masked:
Promoting organization cannot see event title or details, signup status, or post-shift feedback.
Promoted organization cannot see who the promoting organization is.
Coordinated organizations cannot promote IEs.
Nonelectoral orgs can promote any other organization and vice versa, and no data is masked.
Here's how it works for co-ownership:
IEs and coordinated organizations cannot co-own events with each other.
IEs and coordinated organizations may be able to co-own events with electoral organizations as determined by Mobilize Support on a case-by-case basis.
