Reactivate your VAN integration when the VAN key is expired or invalid
Reactivate your VAN integration when the VAN key is expired or invalid

If you see an error message about your organization's VAN integration, follow these steps to get the integration up and running again!

Updated over a week ago

We refer to the integration as “VAN,” but the integration can be used with any application built on the VAN platform, including EveryAction 8, VoteBuilder, LAN, and NGP 8.

🆕 Connect a different committee:

  • Generate a key for the new committee from VAN. Make sure you specify the key to not expire, if possible.

If you are not authorized to self-service create or manage API keys, please reach out to your organization’s VAN administrator. If you are unable to generate the key, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected].

  • Contact [email protected] and ask us to reset the VAN connection so you can activate a new committee.

🔄 Reconnect the same committee and preserve the most recent VAN Settings:

  • Confirm the last 4 characters of the expired key and generate a new key for the same committee from VAN. Make sure you specify the key to not expire, if possible.

If you are not authorized to self-service create or manage API keys, please reach out to your organization’s VAN administrator. If you are unable to generate the key, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected].

  • Contact [email protected] and let us know you'd like to update the VAN API key for your organization's committee. Please provide the full key enclosed in a One-Time Secret link.

Optional: After your integration is reactivated, events and sign ups can be backfill synced. Contact Mobilize Support or your organization's Customer Success Manager.
